Robert Juris & Associates Architects, Ltd. is a full service architectural firm that has provided professional services since our inception in 1992. Owner and principal architect, Robert Juris, has roughly thirty years experience in field of architecture. We pride ourselves on being a service oriented firm which means that Robert is personally involved in every project that comes through the office. There is close communication between all staff in the office, which contributes to keeping a project on track, on schedule, and on budget. We believe a successful project is the product of a competent design team and an informed client working toward a solution that satisfies all criteria.
Robert Juris, AIA, NCARB is a lifetime resident of the Chicago area and holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree with Distinction in Design from the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle. He spent his last semester studying under Anders Nereim and George Hinds at the Le Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Versailles, France through the University of Illinois Overseas Program in the summer of 1980. He founded Robert Juris & Associates Architects, Ltd. in 1992. His professional experience includes single and multi-family residential, corporate offices, educational, industrial, commercial, church & community centers, and medical offices. He is a licensed Architect in the states of Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana & Arizona and has project management experience in the states of Texas, California, New Jersey, Georgia, New York, Colorado, and Florida. Robert also is a registered Interior Designer in the State of Illinois. Previous to starting his own practice, he was a project architect with the firm of Eckenhoff Saunders Architects in Chicago from 1984-1992; he earlier worked under Neil Frankel at Swanke Hayden Connell Architects in Chicago from 1982-1984, and was employed at Chicago Associates Planners and Architects from 1978-1982.
Robert is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and holds an NCARB Certificate for reciprocal architectural registration in other states. He has been a member of the American Institute of Architects since 1984 and has been a member of the AIA Eastern Illinois Chapter since 1994. He has served on the AIA Eastern Illinois Chapter’s Board of Directors as Treasurer, Vice President, and President. Robert served as the Chapter’s Delegate to the AIA Illinois Council and was a member of the AIA Illinois Board of Directors. Robert served as the Illinois Building Commissioner as the Disability Advocate and the Chairman of the Accessibility Subcommittee for the State of Illinois & now specializes in FHA and ADA compliance reviews.
